David Gray
Managing Director, Argent Group Europe Ltd
David Gray trained as an articled clerk and subsequently qualified as a Chartered Accountant. In 1986, David joined the acquisitions team of Hillsdown Holdings plc (based London) and a year later transferred to Toronto to work with the North American operations, latterly becoming responsible for all US operations and their sales. In 1992, David moved back to the London operations team and in 1994 became Chief Executive of the Meat and Produce Division of Hillsdown Holdings plc. Following a leveraged buy-out in 1997 David became a joint Managing Director of Argent Group Europe Ltd and in March 2010 led an MBO which gave him a controlling interest in Fletcher Bay Investment Company Limited.

Jonathan Olins
Managing Director, Poupart Imports
Jonathan is fourth generation in the fruit industry which he joined in 1976. He started in the family business, Louis Reece, as a salesman in the wholesale markets. He joined Poupart in 1987 and set up Poupart Imports in 1998 to concentrate in the non-supermarket sector. He specialises in procuring a wide range of out-of-season produce from South America and South Africa

Mark Culley
Managing Director, OrchardWorld
Mark comes from a family who have grown top fruit in Essex for three generations and has been involved in the fruit-growing from birth, having grown-up on his family farm in Essex. Mark is a former Hadlow College student of commercial fruit production and has worldwide industry knowledge and affection for the UK top-fruit industry. Mark has worked for OrchardWorld since its conception in 1989 and was promoted to Managing Director in 1999.

Managing Director, Norton Folgate & Citrus First
Matt started his produce career in 1991 based in Avignon, exporting salads and melons. He came to the UK and worked in Berries, Stonefruit, Exotics and Grapes for Redbridge before becoming Trading Director of the business. In 2001 he joined Norton Folgate as a Cherry and Stone fruit specialist and became Managing Director of the company in 2007.

Finance Director, Poupart Ltd
Robin trained in the City, initially at Moore Stephens, and after qualification at KPMG. He joined Poupart as Financial Director in 1999 after having spent several years as FD in the automotive sector, at first in a Division of the Lex Group, and then in a Division of Tibbett & Britten

Kathryn Chambers
HR Manager
Kathryn heads up the HR function for Poupart Produce and works together with the leaders and managers of the business to seek, appoint, retain and grow talent. Kathryn has been in HR for 11 years, working in a variety of industries including, financial services, Healthcare, local government, property investment and now fresh produce. Kathryn is a Chartered Member of the CIPD with expertise in recruitment, reorganisation and restructure, TUPE, a variety of ER issues and champions employee engagement.

Charlotte Hack
HR Advisor
Charlotte is our HR Advisor and brings with her 18 years of HR knowledge and expertise across a number of industries including IT/ Financial Services outsourcing/ Construction /Recruitment/ Hertfordshire Constabulary/ County Council. Charlotte has been supporting Poupart for nearly 7 years and works with the HR Manager to ensure the right talent is brought into the business, that they are nurtured, developed and rewarded.

The Poupart Human Resources team are committed to supporting the business operation, company vision and its employees through people related activities and initiatives.

The team work collaboratively with senior management to help implement effective human resource practice and with our employees to address their needs, objectives and aspirations.

We provide a range of services which include the following;

  • Employee Wellbeing
  • Pension, Payroll and Benefit Coordination
  • Performance Management, Development and Training

The team also supports Health & Safety, HR System Implementation and Development, Corporate Responsibility and Company Communications.

Liaison & Business Improvement Executive

Denise joined Poupart Produce as Liaison & Business Improvement Executive in 2016 and is based at OrchardWorld in Colchester. She works across all businesses and sectors to undertake projects and provide support to Poupart Produce and its divisions.


Poupart's IT team provides robust, progressive and advanced core systems through considered system selection & redundancy.

IT provides a service both internally across the Poupart Group and also integration services to 3rd parties such as customers, 3rd party packers and growers/suppliers. The department has a long term IT strategy in place which covers 5 main areas; infrastructure, support, software development, data science and system analysis.

The systems in place are Microsoft Dynamics Nav and bespoke applications. The bespoke applications have been developed in house and gives control and flexibility. These systems enable us to have full integration with our suppliers and packers.

Regular upgrades/refreshes ensure that the latest technologies are in use. Resilience is provided in all areas. In the event that a site is compromised a dedicated cloud based Disaster Recovery facility is on standby for implementation. Critical systems will be available within 4 hours and all others will be back on line within 24 hours. Due to the investments made Poupart have the IT capacity to match a substantial increase in turnover.
